WHAT WE DO |
CNHC is as complex in its networking as it is simple in its aim and mission.
We make use of a variety of resources, pulling experts, established activists
and the citizenship as a whole to make our program work. We ask for action from
not only the experienced natural health veterans, but newly inspired concerned
citizens. We campaign taking a multi-pronged approach to make sure we're working
to unite and empower Canadians from all areas and walks of life. We're not about
idle protesting, blogging or ranting. Everything we do revolves around taking
action to produce noticeable and lasting change.
WALKING THE TALK
Here are some of the ways we accomplish that via our campaigning strategy:
CAMPAIGNING FOR FREEDOM
We started by gathering and uniting concerned groups and individuals and by
launching several Bill C-51 protests, including Canada's largest Stop Bill C-51
rally in Toronto. We also helped the Consumer Health Organization of Canada put
on an expert panel on Bill C-51, moderated by Helke Ferrie & featuring Shawn
Buckley, Dr. Shiv Chopra and Mike McBane.
CAMPAIGNING TO PROTECT OUR INDUSTRY
We have been busily working behind the scenes, with virtually all of the
independent natural health activist groups to bridge together varied concepts &
approaches as well as to work with them to prepare for the upcoming challenges
we will inevitably be facing in the natural health community in the near future.
One of our latest projects has been the development of the new
Charter of
Health Freedom website. We have dedicated ourselves to the forwarding of the
Charter as opposed to 3rd category initiatives because of its uncompromising
nature to uphold the rights we enjoy as Canadian citizens.
CAMPAIGNING TO CREATE AWARENESS
"The first step in fighting injustice is to make it visible."—Gandhi.
We have also decided to extend the reach of our work beyond exclusively
political and social issues in natural health and open up our campaigns to
support the awareness of the healing power of natural health in the body mind
and spirit. We will maintain three campaigns at all times to give the industry,
advocates and public a choice to participate in the one that they are most
passionate about. We have learned that one longer term initiative focused on an
underlying issue, coupled with short, sharp campaigns allows us to shift to
timely causes quickly and efficiently.
CAMPAIGNING FOR CHANGE
We need support at the grassroots level as well an industry level. They say that
many hands make light work. In these times we invite you to get involved and
bring your skills to the table. Action is the hardest part. If there is no
action, all we're doing is building castles in the sky. CNHC feels that nothing
is impossible and we pride ourselves on being a solution-focused organization.
It is possible to create this change through raising awareness of the challenges
and physically acting on our desires to create change. Our aspirations may never
be attained if we do not set the stage for a natural health community that
functions without constant fear of persecution.
