LAST LINE OF DEFENSE TO
STOP BILL C-6
It should be noted that this strategic campaign is entirely independent of the
fight for Natural Health Products (NHPs). While you may care deeply about NHPs,
please remember that these action letters are focused on stopping Bill C-6 – and
its violation of our rights, courtesy Health Canada. If you would like to write
a letter regarding NHPs, please see our ‘Protect Your Rights’ campaign. As an
activist, include this campaign as well, but refrain from mentioning NHPs in
combination with the letter provided.
TAKE ACTION: Phase I was successful. We're now onto Phase II. That is to
email and then mail the attached text (in a word document below) letter to
Senate immediately.
If we EACH take responsibility to be part of this critical campaign by emailing
then sending just 1 letter, our advances in health freedom would be great.
Parliament will listen. Bill C-6 may be stopped.
DOWNLOAD: The Senate letter. Its gives you all the information you need
to know. It is clear and concise. Read through it. Understand the message.
CUT AND PASTE: It’s contents into the body of a new email.
WRITE: Your own thoughts at the beginning of the e-letter. The letter is
in Word so you can change it however you want. Individual letters will carry
more power than those left as is. Personalization should take place at the
beginning of the letter where it will be the most poignant.
It's also possible to copy, paste and adapt David Rowland's words into a
personalized letter of your very own.
ASK: A question and request a direct response to it. Make them think
about the information you're sending them. Be sure to include personal
experiences, research or thoughts and fears you have about Bill C-6. If having
to add something to this email stops you from taking action then don't! It will
have greater impact if you do, but we'd rather you send the email in the next 96
hours, than not.
CUT AND PASTE: The Senate email addresses into the TO, CC or BCC field.
All Sentor email addresses are listed further down on this page. Follow the
directions to cut and paste only up to 10 at a time, or individually if your
prefer.
SUBJECT LINE: Decide on a subject line that works for you. Take ideas
from the draft letter. Make sure it stands out.
REMEMBER: Do not make any reference to NHPs or dietary supplements in the
email or your letter.
FOR SNAIL MAIL: Take the information from your email and cut and paste it
into a new Word document. Want to go one better? Hand write the entire letter.
It is a rare thing and carries a lot of weight.
MAIL: The Senate letter addressed as follows:
(Name of Senator Here)
The Senate of Canada
Ottawa, Ontario
Canada
K1A 0A4

A COLLECTIVE STOP
DEADLINE: RIGHT NOW! The opportunity to speak out may soon be running
out.
METHOD: To persistently send emails and letters in the next 7 days from
across Canada expressing our concern as Canadian citizens to the people who can
help stop Bill C-6. The more people who send letters from all over Canada, the
more powerful our message will be and the more likely a dialogue on this topic
will erupt and cause change.
CAMPAIGN PROGRESS: The Senate is receiving all of our emails and letters.
Senators had a week hiatus while Prime Minister Harper was away. September 29th
2009 is their first day back. Senators are mentioning the volume and important
content in the communications they are receiving. Bill C-6 will be going to
Committee at the end of September where the Senate will hold hearings and call
witnesses from across the country to speak to the issues with Bill C-6. CNHC
will be forwarding 3 names for submission. For up-to-date information join our
Facebook Page.
GOAL: To send as many personalized copies of our letter templates from
people across Canada to our Senate while there's still time.
A VISION OF FREEDOM
This fall, a dire Bill is coming across the table for review. Bill C-6 is being
put through under the guise of protecting consumer safety. In actuality, Health
Canada is hoping to expand its reach beyond reasonable bounds and encroach upon
our rights, blatantly in defiance of the Universal Declaration of Human rights,
the Canadian Bill of Rights and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
They wish to be their own entity, responsible to no one. We can't let this
happen.
This terrifying Bill holds within it the workings of a Big Brother, "Orwellian"
society, making our own government the enemy of our rights. Unreasonable search
and seizures, disclosure of confidential information, confiscation, unlimited
power; all of which, and many more frightening things exist within this bill,
coupled with the lack of personal defense if you are considered "guilty" of
anything Bill C-6 deems you to be.
Swift action is needed to help stop this Bill from coming into law. We cannot
allow Health Canada to infringe on our rights as Canadian citizens, nor should
we allow them to turn Canada into the setting of a new-1984.
REASON: We must open the eyes of our government officials and make sure
they realize what is contained within this Bill before it is put into law. It is
about to become law. The Senate has been gone all summer and we’ve been waiting
for this time to flood their emails and offices with letters. This bill has
passed all readings in the house and can now, through appealing to the senses of
the members of Senate we can have it stopped.
RESULT: Bill C-6 is stopped; The government is more aware of and able to
stop another like it from coming to the table; Increased regulation and scrutiny
on Health Canada's activities; Our rights as Canadian citizens are preserved.
CONNECT: Spread the word of this Bill and what it's really planning to do
for Canada. Be sure to inform your friends and family of what they can do to
help stop it.
